Players, Coaches, and Team Managers:

The bowling Center in Monterey and the Federation of Mexico are working hard to make this a great tournament. I have every confidence they will.

The patterns this year are 35 ft and 45 ft. We will be using Infinity lane conditioner and Defence-C lane

cleaner. The machines will be the Kustodian Walker.

Regarding the lanes, although they are in spec, there are many crowns. The lengthwise level is variable

from front to back. This is normal. The combined topography is different from lane to lane. For the most

part all the lanes go uphill slightly from 40-45 feet to the pins. All this will translate into the short playing

well; in to out slightly, on some lanes, while others will play better up the boards. The long will be less

will be less affected.

So, this year's patterns are made to blend with the surface. The front to back ratio is over 3 to 1 on the

long and the short is a little over 2 to one. The actual pattern difficulty is easier than normal. This will

smooth out the differences slightly in ball reaction from lane to lane and keep the styles more balanced.

There is a chance that if we miss the perfect scoring pace (whatever that is), we will miss high. The pin

carry will determine this fact.

Coaches, remember to have your players treat each lane individually. Take notes on each lane for your

players. Always watch ball reaction on the next pair of lanes during competition. I remember the great

bowlers of the past always kept note books on each lane during competition. In those days they talked

about high boards and low boards. How times have changed.

As always, bring all your bowling skills to Monterey. Remember this; let your bowling balls be your

guide.

Saludos hermanos bolichistas de todas partes del mundo. Reciban un cordial saludo del Coqui Bowling Club, Orlando Florida USA.

Esperamos que todos esten bien. Como saben se acerca la fecha de nuestro 3er Torneo Internacional Copa Coqui y queremos mantenerlos informados de lo que estamos planificando. La fecha del Torneo se habia hablado la ultima semana el 23 al 29 de Marzo 2008, pero el 23 de Marzo se celebra el Domingo dia de Pasqua (Easter) y como tal terminando la Semana Santa. Para algunas personas no es posible viajar por lo tanto, el torneo se celebrara el 30 de Marzo hasta Abril 5, 2008.

En cuanto la bolera, volveremos de nuevo a la bolera Board Walk, la bolera que tiene 80 canchas. Esto significa que como mucho, tendriamos 2 rondas si la entradas dictan. Lo cual le dara a todos la tarde libre para disfrutar de sus actividades.

El hotel no ha cido seleccionado toda via. Estamos serca de la seleccion y sabemos que sera en la famosa Internationl Drive donde como tantos saben hay muchos restaurantes, tiendas y cosas que hacer a solo pasos de distancia. La primera pregunta que se le escribio al hotel finalista era con respecto a la seguridad de los visitantes.

Todavia no tenemos el costo total de la inscripcion, por la razon de el hospedaje.

Muy pronto les tendremos mas informacion con respecto al hotel, los costos de inscripcion y demas.

Brazil nos ha dado confimacion verbal de quisas dos equipos directamente de Brazil participaran, esperamos que nuestro hermanos de Argentina ademas de todos los otros paises que regresen otra vez para continuar el crecimiento de La Copa Coqui y creando este Torneo como uno de los mejores Torneos Internacionles en el mundo.

Estamos trabajando para que este torneo sea nuestro mejor torneo ya que de las experiencias se aprende mucho y como tal nos hacemos mas fuertes.

Greetings to our fellow bowlers from all over the world.

A cordial hello from the Coqui Bowling Club of Orlando Florida, USA.

We trust each and everyone is doing well.

As many of you know the date for the 3rd International Tournament Copa Coqui is approaching and we wish to keep you informed of what is being planned out.

The date for the 3rd Tournament had been proposed as March 23 - 29, 2008. It turns out that March 23rd is Easter Sunday and is then the end of the Holy week, as such we know that, that date would force many people who wish to honor that religious holiday in celebration of Christ to miss the Tournament. So we decided to move the tournament to the following: March 30 to April 6, 2008.

With regards to the bowling center we will return to Board Walk Bowl, that is the center that has 80 lanes. This means that at worst, we will have at the most 2 rounds all dependant on the amount entries we get this year. This return will allow most everyone to have plenty of free time to see and enjoy their respective activites. We have not yet locked in the hotel and thus the tardiness of this email, but can assure you we are very close to a hotel and it will be on the famous International Drive where as a great many of you know there are lots of restaurants, stores and activities all within close walkin distance.

The very first email question posed to the hotel in the lead position is about the Security it provides for its guests.

Since we don't have the hotel locked in, we dont have a cost of event. We anticipate that situation being resolved very soon and as soon as we do you will have your answers.

Brazil has given us a verbal confirmation that they will be attending our tournament with possible 2 teams and maybe more, we also expect our Argentinian friends as well as the rest of the Countries who have been with us before to return and partake in making this one of the Premier International Amateaur Tournaments in the World.

We have learned a great deal from the first 2 events and the lessons learned will only strenghten our bonds

Clasifican para Cuartos de Final, los primeros 15 jugadores de la etapa de clasificación (el 40 % de los inscriptos) y 5 del REPECHAJE (40% de inscriptos)

Los 20 Jugadores clasificados disputaran 2 líneas a total de palos C/H, empezando de CERO, rotando cada línea, accediendo a la SEMIFINAL los mejores 9 jugadores.

SEMIFINAL

Los clasificados se agruparan 3 jugadores por par de canchas, según posición obtenida en Cuartos de Final. Se disputara 2 LINEAS (sin arrastre) y clasificaran para la FINAL ESCALERILLA los primeros 4 jugadores.

HANDICAPS: 75% al promedio mas alto entre los inscriptos.

Se tomaran los promedios vigentes de la UMTB y de las Ligas Confeccionándose un solo promedio, con un mínimo de 30 líneas entre ambos promedios. En el caso de que un jugador no complete la cantidad de líneas mínimas, se tomaran todas las líneas que registre el jugador y se conformara un solo promedio con el cual se le otorgara un Handicap, el cual reajustara para la etapa siguiente.

Los jugadores sin promedio se les otorgara el handicap una vez concluidas las 5 líneas de clasificación y se les ira reajustando en cada línea de las etapas subsiguientes.

EMPATES:

En caso de empate entre dos o más jugadores en cualquiera de las Etapas se definirán a favor del jugador con menor Handicap.De persistir el empate se definirá a favor del jugador que tenga la menor diferencia entre la mejor y la peor línea con Handicap.

XV Campeonato Americano Masculino Mayor de la FIQ/WTBA Zona Americana – Guatemala 2007

Lugar: Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Información: Selección Nacional integrada por hasta seis (6) caballeros.

CONFERENCIA EXTRAORDINARIA DE LA Zona Americana será el 26 de mayo.

El Primer Campeonato Americano Masculino Mayor de la FIQ /WTBA Zona Americana será realizado en la Ciudad de Guatemala, República de Guatemala del 27 de mayo al 3 de junio del presente año.

El formato de este evento ya ha sido definido por la Zona Americana. Las Delegaciones estarán integradas por 6 hombres y los eventos serán los siguientes: Individual, Dobles, Tripletas, Quintetas y Final de Maestros.

El Comité Organizador, encabezado por la Federación Nacional de Boliche de Guatemala, ha recibido ya la confirmación de quince (15) Paises del Continente Americano; siendo ellos: CANADA, ESTADOS UNIDOS, MEXICO, EL SALVADOR, HONDURAS, COSTA RICA, PANAMA, ISLAS VIRGENES, BERMUDA, PUERTO RICO, REPUBLICA DOMINICANA, VENEZUELA, COLOMBIA, BRASIL y GUATEMALA.

El Presidente de la Zona Americana JOSÉ GUANDIQUE ha aseverado que "Por la espontánea respuesta obtenida de los Países Miembros de la Confederación Panamericana de Bowling confirmando su participación, el éxito del evento está asegurado" y Anunció la integración del Comité Técnico, así: Licenciado Gustavo López, Administrador de campeonato; Sr. John Davis, Delegado Técnico y Sr. Gilbert Snijders, Director del Evento.

Respecto a la Realización de la Conferencia extraordinaria, el Presidente informó que será realizada el día 26 de mayo a las diez de la mañana en el Hotel sede del Campeonato Americano Masculino y tendrá como tema único, la revisión y Modificación de los estatutos de la FIQ /WTBA Zona Americana y la recepción de las recomendaciones de los Delegados para la actualización de los reglamentos de la Confederación Panamericana de este deporte.

Las modificaciones a los Estatutos, así como las consideraciones sobre los reglamentos ya han sido propuestas por los Presidentes del Continente Americano, quienes realizaron un Foro especial para este propósito a principios del mes de marzo, en la Ciudad de San salvador, Capital de la República de El Salvador, al que que se hicieron representar un total de 17 paises.

Detalle de Juego:

Torneo JUVENIL, MAYORES y SENIOR serán jugados de forma simultánea.
Las líneas jugadas valen simultáneamente para todos los torneos.
Cada categoría tendrá una definición separada.
Por palos.
5 líneas por fecha.
Alternando canchas entre tiro y tiro.
Cada noche cada jugador utilizará 10 canchas y no repetirá ninguna de ellas.
Serán necesarios anotadores para cada par de canchas
